Exciting Opportunity: Assistant Accountant at Thirdi Group – Crows Nest. 

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional ready to take the next step in your career? Thirdi Group is seeking a talented Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic team in North Sydney!

Role Overview

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in our Head Office, supporting day-to-day financial operations and contributing to the smooth running of our finance department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recording all bank transactions and reconciliations
  • Processing payments and invoices accurately and within expected time periods
  • Respond to supplier account queries and resolve any invoice discrepancies in a professional and timely manner
  • Assisting FM with the preparation of monthly cashflows, budgets and forecasts, as required
  • Prepare and collate monthly progress claim documentation during projects lifecycle
  • Assisting with project settlements 
  • Performing regular account and invoice reconciliations
  • Assist in preparing month-end management reports and reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly business activity statements 
  • Assist in preparing financial reports 
  • Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow, efficiency and accuracy of the department
  • Assisting with other accounting tasks and duties, as assigned

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in an Account Clerk role or similar role
  • Suitable accounting/bookkeeping qualifications 
  • Proficiency in Xero is essential
  • A strong work ethic
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Intermediary Excel Skills
  • Demonstrated time management and problem-solving skills
